Our position

We build the conditions for Indigenous businesses to participate and perform.

Economic development is not a procurement target or a one-off transaction. It is Indigenous businesses winning work, delivering with confidence, retaining value and building a stronger position for what comes next.

Mia Mia Collective brings cultural grounding together with procurement intelligence, ESG, finance and capability verification. We make opportunity, readiness and risk visible—then help both sides act on the evidence.

For Indigenous businesses

Be recognised for what your business can deliver.

How we work

Verification before activation.

Every engagement is grounded in the economic outcome, the market evidence and the delivery reality—not activity for activity’s sake.

  1. 01

    Locate

Define the economic objective and where value can be created or retained.

  2. 02

    Verify

Test demand, capability, evidence, constraints and commercial assumptions.

  3. 03

    Activate

Build the pathway, tools, relationships and accountabilities that move the work.

  4. 04

    Evidence

Measure participation, delivery and economic value—and use it to improve.

Founders

Commercial experience with complementary depth.

Co-Founder · Economic Development & Supply Chain

Clare Connell

Clare is an economic development, procurement and business capability leader with 15 years’ experience. She has led local and Indigenous procurement across Australia, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste, connecting ESG commitments, supply-chain opportunity, supplier engagement and enterprise readiness.

Her strength is seeing the whole economic system: what buyers require, what businesses can deliver, where evidence is missing and how to build a credible pathway from participation commitment to commercial outcome.

Co-Founder · Finance & Commercial Governance

Maree North

Maree brings financial and commercial discipline to business growth. Her work centres on financial modelling, commercial assumptions, governance, compliance alignment and the information businesses need to make sound decisions.

She helps turn opportunity into a position that can be tested, funded and managed—with clear numbers, controls and accountabilities behind it.

Cultural and commercial integrity

Right relationships matter.

We treat cultural knowledge, commercial information and relationships with care. Cultural authority is not assumed, and Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property is respected through clear permission, attribution and agreed use.

We are direct about what is known, what must be verified and where specialist legal, financial or cultural authority is required.
